Sitting... waiting...

So I'm in the ER tonight and I've been sitting here on the intraweb for a good 2 hours because well... Fuck it, I'll say it, WE ARE SLOW!!!!! Have had a bit of everything tonight at a slow and steady pace. From the poor girl that nearly pulled her eye out with a shower curtain rod (don't ask) and sliced through half of her upper right eyelid. Pretty interesting. Luckily she did not hurt her actual eye. Very lucky. To the usual hot tots and the mothers (and fathers) that have no clue. Thank you, job security. And to the panicked family of a 16 year old female who is obviously crying out for help/attention by not eating in 4 days and then hyperventilating and then passing out. Parents of course think she is dying and cannot understand why I am not killing myself to rush her to the ER/OR/life saving room/Dr's Side or whatever it is they are thinking. Anywho, the night goes on and has gotten rather tiring. Aside from the guy that came in yesterday with severe sepsis (wbc was 43k+) that had to get tubed, we have been doing pretty good. One more night, then a night off and then I have a 48 in Alice, Tx where I have been doing some EMS work on the side for some extra spending cash.

School next semester... ugh, should be a blast :D We'll see how it goes.

And then the week after that, hopefully Austin and maybe a day or 2 in Tyler... not sure on the particulars just yet though.

I'll update later.

And yes, Austin and Tyler on the monster. :D

I guess its time for an update...

...So I haven't updated this blog in a very long time. Not too sure what I need to update with. I've just been very busy and haven't made the time to post anything up.

I've been working too much to do anything much anyways. I have 2 jobs now and I'm just working on putting some money away and paying off some old bills. I haven't taken any road trips or taken any pictures but I'm gonna try to work it out where I can do that. I'm on the hunt for a tank bag, an appropriate backpack that I can rock on the bike and carry essentials, as in my laptop if needed.

other than that, just daily adventures in the ER and trips to CC and SA with EMS...

I will update with more regularity for the 1 or 2 people that actually read this blog.

Peace.

Day at the zoo...

So I had promised Tash that I would take her to the zoo if she did well this week in school, and she followed through and did very well. So I came through as well and took her. Called Victor and Theresa and found out that they too would go with us and take the girls.

Took off around 11 or noon or something like that, not sure. 3 girls, 3 aduldts, or 3 large children rather.

Stopped off in San Benito at the Longhorn for some BBQ which was awesome. Kids enjoyed it as well.

Got in to Brownsville and headed in to the zoo. It was quite packed today and luckily it wasn't as hot as yesterday.

Following are some random pictures. enjoy.

Loss...

I lost my grandfather this weekend.

Hardest day of my life was watching what I had to see, but did so to respect his wishes and desires.

I had spoken to him at length about exactly what he wanted to happen if he was to stop breathing and if his heart stopped. I told him what it all entailed and how it would go and he was at peace with it.

I followed his wishes to the letter and then it was over.

It sucked that it happened in a hospital and not at home where he would have preferred, but it happened none the less.

I was lucky to have known this man, he taught me so much and now I kind of feel I need to change some things in my life to honor him and who he was and what he taught not only me, but my siblings and family.

I had promised him a long time ago that I would do what I could to be there if he left this earth, and I was lucky enough to be able to keep that promise. He did not go alone and that is what counts.

I don't cry often, but I'm not ashamed to say that I did not cry, I wept at his loss. He would have told me to "toughen up" or to "go compose yourself and then come back" but I wept anyway.

I think I want to write more as I find it healthy, but I have to find the words.

Bro, I know you're hurting, so when you're ready, I am too. I will listen if you want. If not, its cool. I understand. There is no judging and looking back at shoulda woulda coulda. It is what it is and that is all that it is.

The service was beautiful and moving. Pretty simple, the way my grandfather would have liked. My cousin moved me to tears singing "Amazing Grace". I had no clue she could sing like that. Wow!! is all I have to say.

My daughter sang her grampa a song too. "Jesus loves me". She told me she thought grampa would like it and I know he did.

She was so strong the whole time. I'm so proud of her too.

Anyways,

Peace.

Miss ya Gramps!!

I have a couple of write ups about riding to do with some pics added in, some stupid stuff from work and a couple of nights out on the town to write about... I'm sleepy so I won't do it now, but standby and I'll get to it, I promise.

And yes Rick, the pics are coming. It got late today and the sun went down, I will take and email you pics tomorrow.

So about 2-3 weeks ago I purchased a new (to me) motorcycle, sight unseen (sorta) I got to look at pictures of this bike on the internet and via e-mail. Spoke to Lowell (previous owner) on the phone several times and finally just dropped the hammer and bought it. I had found a moving company to move the bike from Albuquerque, NM down here for around $400. So if you ever need to move a vehicle and run across Dealer to Dealer on the internet... AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!! I got nothing but a run around from these people and they still have not returned my $100 deposit.

These people told me that my bike would be here on the 23rd of Jan. I was hopeful and anxious. Needless to say, they fucking suck and my bike never got here. So... Long story short, I said fuck it, the trip up and down would cost me a tad bit less on fuel than I was getting charged by that company so I hooked up my trailer, grabbed a blanket, pillow, riding gear, handgun and toothbrush and took off around 2 pm after working a 12hr night shift. I actually stopped for a snack and for fuel (obviously) and got some of those 5 hour energy drinks that turned out to work pretty damn good. So I just took off driving. The drive was mostly uneventful. Drove to San Antonio, out to Junction then west on I-Fucking-10... Longest, boringest <--- is that even a word? drive ever. Went as far as Ft Stockton or the likes and pulled over for about an hour because I had been getting cross eyed and seeing shit on the road for about 30 minutes prior to that and I knew I needed the shut eye. Slept for about an hour and then just got up, turned the truck on and kept on trucking. Got to hell Paso finally, drove right through and kept going all the way up to Albuquerque. All in all it was about 16 hours of travel. I got to Lowell's house and parked outside as we had agreed and fell asleep for about an hour and a half so I could get some rest and wait for him to wake up.

I woke up to the sound of the garage opening up. I opened my eyes and knew I needed more rest, but to be honest, I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead (name the movie that line comes from) .

So I met Lowell. Young guy. Nice, amicable. I could see a slight sadness in his eyes knowing his baby was going home with me that day, and I understood it. He knew it was going to a good home where she would be loved just as much as he had loved her. Although I will probably put more miles on it than he did, but that is just me.

Lowell's family was still sleeping, but we cranked that beast up anyway. Just the purr was mesmerizing to me. I couldn't believe how awesome she sounded. Pulled her out of the garage and I just HAD to take her out for a quick spin, not only because its the logical thing to do when buying something, but because she was calling me, daring me to be captivated by her feel, her torque and her power.... and by the way, her name is now Monica.

I went up and down the street for a bit, and I must say above all else I was freezing my ass off!! But I instantly fell in love and knew that I had found my bike... I have heard it said best, "you don't sit on this bike, you become part of it" and that is exactly what happened as I climbed on. I could almost feel myself become part of the bike and I hadn't done that with another bike ever before. I loved it!

Lowell and I did the necessary paper work and chit chatted for a bit. I also gave him this blog address, so Lowell, to you I say thank you for a gorgeous bike, your hopitality and kindness. Rest assured your motorcycle has landed in safe hands and will be well looked after.

Lets see... after that I just got back in the truck and started driving back. Got to the first fuel spot I could find, loaded up on gas, put oil in my Tahoe as it seems I was running low, and started my drive back. Not much going on with the drive back, just did most of it during the day. got about 2 hours outside of SA and had to sleep. This time I knocked out for about 3 hours. Got up, and kept driving. Got home finally around 2 am. Unloaded the bike and then crashed out for a couple of hours as I had a group ride the next morning.

I will update on those rides and put up some pictures after I get back today from doing some more riding...

Peace

Random update...

So... I just had some healthy food. Actually the healthiest I've eaten in a while which is a must do because I was told by someone that I don't look very "athletic" so I read that as "Hey! you look fat and like you couldn't outrun your own farts!!" hahahahahahahaha. I had been on a health kick a while back and I'm back on one now. You know, fish, chicken, shrimp, lean meat (please refrain from all dick jokes hahaha) veggies and fruits. Also, eating at a better pace and schedule. Prepping food on a weekly basis so I don't have to worry about it all every single day.

Today, after I woke up of course, I had 4 oz of Tilapia, grilled of course
about 4 oz of pico de gallo that I made myself and about 4 oz of potato salad. All healthy and all good.

What else should I update about? Hmmm... I have no clue.

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my motorcycle... CANNOT wait. As a matter of fact, I need to call up the ducati shop to check on my present motorcycle...

Ok. I'm off, need to figure out where I'm headed this evening.

Peace

fonts and colors...

blah!!! that red was the suck, sorry for subjecting everyone to that, I apologize for the strain on your eyes. On a happier note, I should have a new (to me) motorcycle soon. Don't ask, cuz I'm not telling. You'll see it when I have it and post some pictures. Until then, I'm not saying anything else.

I am however now on the hunt for a buyer for my "Red". She will have to go... sadly enough, but its a fair trade. The new one will make up for the old in many ways, not least of which is a newer year and a more updated suspension (both front and rear). Also, I have been wanting a little different. I think I will post "Red" on the ducati forum and see where it goes. Or leave it for a consignment sale at the local Ducati store, but they will want to give me less than what she is worth, so that might not be the best option... I'll figure it out. I'm trying to get my motorcycle shipped to me from Albuquerque, NM. Hopefully about a weeks time...

Anyways... what else could possibly be going on? Not much. Just got off of work, have been on the phone for the last 3 hours and I desperately need to get some sleep. I work again tonight.

Okay, I'm off to get some rest. I will check in later.

Peace

So last Sunday we went for another Ride...

So on the 3rd the TSBA had a wrench night and Harry called me up to tell me about it. I swung by to hang out with the guys and have a bit of BBQ. Talking to the guys I was telling them that my bike was in the shop and I could not ride the next morning. Steve tells me that if I wanted to ride with them, he had an extra bike I could ride. I was kinda dubious about riding someone' bike, but I relented and took him up on his offer. Turns out he has 2 Hyabusasas. I would be riding the 08. So we set the plan up and I was to meet him at Eddie's the next morning. When I pulled up I saw Steve outside cleaning up the bikes.

This was to be the bike I was riding on this day. I was kinda excited as I know exactly how fast this bike can move and I was eager to put some speed on her. Although very cautious as this is not my bike and Steve has her very well taken care of. He assured me that it was okay to get on and get some speed going so again, I took him up on it.

Front view...
And yet another...
Here is Eddie, who was looking half asleep and half hungover (both of which he assured me he was not) getting ready to ride.
Now here we have Harry and his ever growing collection of "WTF" looks. I think he may have been wondering if I was taking pictures of his very sexy (in a completely hetero and manly way) leather pants. HAHAHA

I believe Randy there on the right is trying to size up Harry for signs of heterosexuality. HAHAHAHA!!!
Here we have Serena, Duh-Wayne and Scott on the right. Scott is Serena's husband. Scott is on a FJR and serena is rocking a BMW R1200S I think. Its the sportbike, and its quick and she can ride very well.
Serena was looking at the speedometer on the Busa that I was gonna be riding, asking how fast it went. I told her, "The bike goes very fast... ME on the other hand will not be going as fast." ;)
This is Serena's BMW.
Another picture of the Hyabusa that I will be riding this day. What I like to call the land rocket, damn that thing was fast...
Eddie's YZ-1
Carlos' Ducati 848. Now this particular motorcycle is pretty quick, which Carlos would prove to us later on in the day with a speeding ticket from the Highway Patrol.

Scott's FJR. Much like Harry's bike, this thing is a sleeper and wicked quick. Scott has the bags on for extra carry capacity of course.

Randy's V-Strom 1000. Nice bike and nice guy.

Here is Harry's bike... which now is incomplete without a leather clad ass sitting on it ;)

(yes Harry, I'm gonna fuck with you about your pants for a while.. ) hahahahaha
This is Steve's 05, the other Hyabusa, and the one he was riding today.

So here we have now the shot we've all been waiting for, Harry actually not giving me a 'WTF" look, but actually smiling the secure manly smile in Leather pants. :D
John on the R1
Mase's BMW K12

Mase trying out for the "WTF" look contest.... talk to Harry, he's got the looks down, Mase!
Serena on her bike, getting ready to go...

And of course we have to get a picture of Harry's leather clad ass, he looks so shexy
Heading up North on 281, this is carlos (speedy McSpeed) on the 848

Duh-Wayne on the other FJR, he peeled off early, no idea why but oh well, to each their own ride.

This is what I was talking about when I mentioned Harry's bike not being able to functioni without a leather clad ass on it anymore. Harry still looks bored and like he's just waiting for us to turn it up a notch. But we were on the Expressway and doing about 80-90 was enough for that area.

Serena chunking the deuce... I always get one of these when I'm taking pics. I have yet to get the B.A.R.F salute... I'll wait for it. :D
Ricardo and Lorena on his big Goldwing. This is the guy from the previous post that is a dentist in progreso and has the zx-14. Nice guy and he rides this thing like he does the zx-14.
Randy on his V-Strom...

Here is Eddie giving me a "what about me? Why don't you take a picture of me, huh huh :tear" look. So there Eddie, I got ya ;)

Rick (Jr) on the bling mobile (zx-10)

Mase in the foreground and the bling mobile in the back with Jr on it.

Another of Randy...

Big Steve on the big Busa...
Ricardo and Lorena...

Serena...

Scott...

From l to r : Lorena, Ricardo, Harry feeling the softness of the leather pants, scott helping him concentrate, and Serena. :D

That is Randy on the left and my ugly mug on the right. Self portrait style. I will try to keep pictures of myself to a minimum as I'm sure the just sully up the post ;) hahahaha

Steve and John, I don't know what they were talking about, but it was funny...

Eddie, pouring his 20th packet of sugar into his coffee...

I think they were looking at some pics of a previous ride.

I'm not even gonna touch this one, you guys figure it out :D hahahahaha
This is John trying to lean the bike all the way over. When we went through here earlier going the other way, John had his knee down on the pavement which was pretty cool.
This is Harry breezing through the right hander, note the cool looking leather pants...
Serena with Scott hot on her trail...
Eddie and Ric coming around... Bling mobile in the background.
This is Carlos on the 848.
This is Jr.
zoom on Eddie from a previous shot...

And this last one is Harry from the other side. Its a picture that Mase sent him, of which I'm still waiting on several from Mase.
Well. We had a very good run that day. I'm noticing that when I put up pictures I don't put as much narrative into the story, so I will try for a recap.

Arriving at Eddie's that morning I was kind of nervous. Why? Was it the riding? Well no, I don't get nervous riding. I was just dubious about being on such a big heavy bike with so much power under it and praying that no matter what else happened that I didn't ding it or drop it as I don't wanna pay for someone elses bike. But all that was laid to rest when Steve greated me good morning with a big shit eating grin and said something like "you ready for this?" I was like hell yes, can I pick up the speed. He said it was no problem and that that was what the bike was for. He has a power commander on it and said he wouldn't even activate it. I missed this part until later in the day.... So Eddie came out of the house looking half hungover and half asleep. When I mentioned this he assured me he was neither, just not really a morning person and it took a bit to get in gear (dude I so understand). So we took off, headed up McColl to Nolana, going through the usual motions of warming up the tires which I'm sure kinda freaks out the commoners in cages (cars for those that don't know). But it was necessary as I knew we would soon be opening em up. Got to Nolana and peeled it to the right headed for 281 and the Valero. I guess the tires were warm enough because I was going around 70 and Steve flew by me like I was standing still digging a wedgie out of my ass on that 05 busa. Fak me that thing was quick. Needless to say I followed in kind and quickly caught up... 130mph on Nolana... DAMN!!

When we got to the Valero there were several riders there already and a good group was coming together. First thing I saw was that sexy beast Harry in his leather pants.

sidenote: I want everyone to know that I commend Harry for going to the lengths of getting leather pants to protect his body in case the worst should happen. I will get my turn at getting ribbed as I'm in the process of getting leathers too. Only reason I'm raggin on him is cuz I told his wife Christiane that I would just for fun. Harry, ya know its cuz I like ya, that I fuck wit ya. :D

back to the story...

There was Scott, his wife Serena and some guy named Duh-wayne that assured me there would be a quiz on names later as I was trying to remember them all. Why? cuz I suck with names and always forget them. I'm just glad the tall guy wasn't there again, I STILL cannot remember his name. Needless to say I went through all the trouble of remembering names and for what? Duh-Wayne peeled off early and didn't even show up for the quiz. Boo!

We had the usual recap before the ride for those that have not ridden with the group before and we were ready to head off.

So off we went, the usual way of up N on 281 to 490 then hit it up to the east. Got some twisties in and some speed under the bikes. Got to Raymondville again and ate at Casa Blanca again.

Headed back and in to Edinburg after a good breakfast, there wasn't too much speeding going on. Mase and I pulled ahead to get some picture taking done and that is where most of the above photos come from. After photo taking we rode over to 490 and 281 where some peeled off. Harry and Randy took off on 490, some went home and others of us went for fuel and speeding tickets. on the way south on 281 we got up to some pretty quick speeds and sadly enough Carlos got tagged at 90 mph which was a welcome relief from the 120-130mph we were doing just a bit before we saw the DPS truck. He got pulled, we went for gas, and he didn't get arrested or towed, which was a plus. Back up to 490 for some straight aways where I finally got to open the busa up... I gotta say... Holy Shit!!! at about 170mph I was having many thoughts go through my head, so I slowed it up a bit. After that we went south into town in Mission where I was getting bored and started lane splitting and what not, when a pickup truck... yes, a pickup truck thought he would catch up and show me how tough he was and how fast his truck was... Puh-leeze!! I played with him for a bit then Jr went flying by on the zx-10 and myself and Steve followed in kind.

After that we just went back to Eddie's house, put the bikes up and chatted for a while. It was a great ride and I'm not being as descriptive as I wanted to be because I'm pressed for time right now. I'll update again soon.
