5 in da mornin!!

And I'm out of work a little early so I thought I could come on here and just run at the keyboard a bit....

So what has been going on? Not much really. Lets see, Slept like a champ this weekend. I need a new motorcycle. I think I will be trading in my 900SS for a new Ducati Monster 1000 SR2. It is a tight looking bike and I like it quite a bit. And if my 6'4" brother can ride that thing around the country, my short ass will be fine on it. That and I'm going to have Erik set up the suspension for my weight (which we won't discuss thank you very much Rick!). Anyway, I foresee some good rides in the future. I also foresee my BMW getting some work done on it pretty soon. So there will be an extra bike in the stable to run around on. That and I'm going to look into getting a Suzuki DRZ4o0SM in the near future, why? cuz being a hooligan has its moments and I enjoy it. ;) HOOLIGANS!!! FTW!!!! hahahaha

So anyways, what else is up? Hmmm, not much. Just chillin, fixin to zone out on some tv, which I can now do on my new 32" flat screen LCD.... thats right!!!!! hahahahaha

Ok, be back later.

peace and hair grease!!

Update...

So there is a blog strike out there somewhere in protest to my lack of updates... So here we go...

Lets see, everything is SNAFU as always :) if you don't know what that means, ask a marine. Or you can ask me later.

Work is as fantastic as ever, and since we're in our 'busy' season, it goes by a little faster at night. I think I'm going to be putting in an extra day or 2 to catch up on some bills and to put some more money away. Looking at getting a new motorcycle soon and need the extra chedda for that. And I want something I can put on the track as well.

Bit o' good news. My brother might be coming down soon so we can hang out some and catch up and get back on track. Makes me very happy.

My sister is a drunken brawler and a hysterical drunk... I'm glad Rick and I taught her how to throw down and protect herself and her friends. Onya sis, ya done good.

I'm miserable without my motorcycle. I WANT IT BACK ALREADY!!!! I want to ride!!!!!

I have to order my gloves from the UK because the sales rep in the bay area is a total flake. meh, twat!

My daughter is the most awesome person on the planet. She never fails to make me laugh, no matter what is going on with me or in my life. Ask me about the "chill, Winston" line she tossed at me. . . about fell out laughing!! hahaha

Ok, now I have to get going and start ironing so I look fresh at work tonight. :) hahaha, cuz you know the sickies like it when I look fresh yo!!

Peace, Love, and hair grease!!

Sunday Ride

So Harry calls me the other day telling me he found the group to be riding with as the group of guys he has been riding with for a while is getting too slow for him. The majority of the guys in that group he rides with are a little older and tend not to need to run as fast as we do. Now, with that said, its not always about going fast, or being wreckless, or even irresponsible... but like anyone else, Harry and I like to turn it up a notch every once in a while.

So Harry and I had rode once before and it was a short hop, not very long, not very far, but we did get to run around a bit. After we split up from Bugs, who does not run fast at all, probably because he is near lounging on that big ass couch he rides, Harry and I got on the gas a bit. Fuck... Let me tell you, Harry is not afraid of getting on the gas. His FJZ HAULS ASS!!!! Its a big 1300cc, clutchless bike, that left my ass in the dust. Although I caught up to him finally as we were near 120 or 130mph, I have to admit, he is very quick.

So we hadn't ridden in 2 weeks and he calls me to tell me he met some guys that are part of a group of sport bike riders here in the Valley. Guys of like minds, fast bikes, running far and hard and doing it on sport bikes and also safety and gear oriented. So in other words, good guys, fast bikes, and not stupid squids with squidly behavior. I'm in. He tells me that we have a bbq at one of the guys' house and we're off. Met up and rode out to Mission for a bbq. Turns out Harry was a little worried because apparently on the way over to meet him my back light went out. Turns out it was the bulb that was old and not making the right amount of contact... anyway, he could not see me at night and we ended up getting lost because I suck and had not been in Mission for a while. BBQ went well, met some guys and made plans for a Sunday Morning ride that they all go on every week.

The next morning I'm up early and getting ready. Heading over to pick up Roy as I had called him the night before to tell him we were riding. He said he was going to church but once I told him we had a ride you could almost picture him moving the phone away from his mouth, turning to wifey and just letting her know, "uh, yeah... we're riding in the morning" So I was glad he was down to ride.

So roy gets his loud ass Ducati out when I get there. He has a 99 916 with a Fast by Ferraci Big Bore kit in it. The bike itself is fast, and Roy knows how to ride the hair off of it, so we were almost set... then he came out in his flashy McFlash Ducati shoes and I was like, "hey, wanna know how I know you're gay?" hahahaahaha. Luckily for me Roy doesn't give a shit, he just laughed and said he liked em.

Rode out to Nolana and 281 as that is where this group meets every Sunday to go for a ride.
When we got there Already there were 4-5 bikes. Ernest on his zx-10, Harry on his FJ, Ricardo on his ZX14 (the little bike) and Eddie on the FZ1 (this bike I actually like quite a bit) and Roy and myself representing Ducati of course. Roberto showed up on his Ducati 848 with paper plates on it still. Then John, the club prez on his R1. Alfredo on the R6, jason on the ninja (zx-7?) Mase pulled in on his ZX-14 and I forget the guys name on the green zx-10 all blinged out. And that makes 12. From what I understand, the group hadn't been this big in a while seeing as everyone has different schedules and what not. I was glad to see the guys talk about the ride before we took off. Normally people just get up, get on and roll out and let shit happen. Not these guys. They were good enough about knowing that there were new riders in the group and some simple (yet sometimes ignored) rules were laid out. If you want to haul ass, get to the front of the pack, that is where the faster bikes will be. If you care to go slower, then hang out towards the rear of the pack. The leaders will always make sure everyone is still together if the ride gets a little spirited. Signal debris on road with leg, don't fixate on the rider in front of you, stay in staggered formation and most of all, enjoy YOUR ride.

So we took off. I had let the guys know that I was going to be moving around in the group to take some pictures and everyone was cool with that. The first part of the ride was uneventful and we finally hit 490 and headed East. Getting some better speeds due to the fact we were on backroads and it was early Sunday morning. Not much po-po out. Now like I said earlier, not very many twisties in this area, but we did hit a couple of nice sweepers that we got to take in at at least 80-100mph which was a welcome change from the regular mundane riding of the city here. I realized 2 things. I'm not as good as I want to be... yet, and that my suspension sucks. Both problems are being remedied. John, Alfredo, Roberto, Ricardo (on the big zx-14) Roy and Harry were ahead of me as I kept feeling the bike get loose as I was leaned over (especially to the right side) and we had a great time. Roy kept riding the wheelies out of the corners and didn't get the Duc up anywhere near what it can do. The riding was fun and spirited. Pace coming out of the corners was already in the 100's so when we'd straighten out we'd roll on it (seeing as how unless you're on the expressway, there is not too much room to run em hot) and we were hitting (at least I was) 150+mph and Harry and the guys were still well ahead of me. I am the suck ;) hahahahaha. Finally made it to Raymondville and got to Casa Blanca Restaurant. Great place to eat, good food and good company. Sadly I forgot that they take only cash, not cards and neither Roy nor I had cash and I was buying Roy breakfast. Boo, had to borrow cash and now I owe Harry 10 bones and John 5. I'll get em on Sunday. So we get to teh restaruant and do the whole mad max parking. Got it down on the first time too. But I was next to Harry, and I looked over to see Harry loose the footing on his left leg (gravel) and as I reached over to try to keep his bike from coming over (like that was going to happen) I lost balance on mine, and we both hit the ground. Boo!!! Oh well, got Harry's bike off of him and made sure he was ok, then picked up my bike. No harm done. Lets eat!!!! Had a good fatboy breakfast and then got ready to ride again. Kinda the same way back, just a couple of different twists and turns. Made it back to Edinburg and met up at the Flying J. Had some group pictures taken and then everyone split up. Headed home and was glad I got up early to ride.

I didn't put the pictures in because this thing takes fucking forever to post em up and it posts them all at the top and I have to move them around. boo! so maybe I'll get a flckr accoutn and post up the link later.

Till Sunday, when we ride again...

Some riding events...

So I went riding with a co-worker's husband. I had never been riding with this guy before and had never met him, but his wife said he was a good guy and that he loved to ride... a little bit of a biased opinion but I took her word for it ;) hahaha. So I was supposed to meet Harry in Palmview and take off around the back roads to end up somewhere north of us and hopefully somewhere for breakast. The area around here sucks for any semblance of twisties or turns and there are very few roads to take that actually have a twist or turn worth a shit in em. But if you know where you're going, you can find em. So I hadn't called Harry to make definite plans, but we HAD agreed to meed in Palmview and go from there. So Sunday morning, I'm up early and out the door. I get to Palmview and stop to give him a call. Wifey answers and turns out he has already taken off to Harlingen to ride his usual ride. Ahh Fuck!! So Christiane, how long ago did he leave? 15 minutes you say? and he's going to Harlingen? Cool, I'll catch him... hahahaha yea, RIGHT!!! Harry, as I soon came to find out, hauls ass on his FJZ and as much as I was traveling at a continued 120mph on the expressway all the way to Harlingen, he was there well before I was.

Totally giving me the "what the fuck took you so long?" look. Harry is a little older than I am, but getting to know him, he's probably as young if not younger than me at heart. Harry has traveled many different places on his bike and used to be a racer back in the day. Definitely a guy that knows his way around a motorcycle and riding. Turns out he's a hell of a nice guy to boot.

We took off north with a couple of other guys from the group, deciding to go to Raymondville for some breakfast (nice little restaruant by the way)

Dale was one of the other guys we rode with. He rides a Harley (we won't hold that against him seeing as how he's 79 and rides that thing all over the country still). Very nice guy, laid back, kinda quiet, but has a good sense of humor.

This very quiet and cool cat with the Silver dollars in his pocket (long story) is Bugs. Not sure how old, but he rides a huge GoldWing that needs not to be washed as its not dirty yet ;) hahaha
Nice guy, rides mellow, but rides.... we rode for a while then we all split up. It was a good day and it was good to finally meet and ride with Harry. We were soon to do it again. But that will be the next post.

Fucking People...

So last night at work the only thing of note was the 5 month old cute little baby girl that was dropped off at the ER due to the fact that mom was a drug addicted, alcoholic prostitute and had been arrested last week and the lady that this child was left with could no longer take care of her as she has her own 3 or 4 kids to watch out for.

Sucks that there are people out there that struggle to have kids, hell even to adopt kids, and even if they can adopt, it might cost an arm and a leg and this piece of shit just squirts em out and then leaves em to get high, fucked, and then arrested... Meh, such is life. Kid was cute, but will most likely become another statistic in the system. Sad.

So I need to update...

I haven't updated my blog in a while, and I just might get to that this morning. We'll see what happens and what kind of mood I'm in when I get back from dropping Tash off at school. I have some photos I need to put up from a couple of rides I went on with some friends. No big deal, but I had fun.

That is all for now... now back to your regularly scheduled programs...

So this last week was interesting...

I was reading an article on the local newspaper website about local hospitals and how long the waits are etc. etc. And the article has a spot where readers can make their comments and what not. As I sat there reading this shit, I was tempted to write my own comments in but decided against it because they (my comments) would get banned or blocked because of my colorful use of language.

So the complaint goes as follows... as always.

http://www.themonitor.com/opinion/waited_18743___article.html/hospital_nurse.html

And you can read all the comments at the bottom of that page.

My response is as follows...

Hey, you fucking imbecilic moronic idiots... pull your heads out of your collective asses. YES, a hospital IS a business, YES it is going to bill you for anything and everything they can. THAT is how businesses make money, you fucking idiots!!! Did you really think that a group of people got together to plan a way of helping you for free? To put their time in college and collective education to work for YOU and not get paid for it?

What you morons fail to realize when you run your mouths about the ER's in almost every city, is the following. ER's are flooded with illegal immigrants and people with no money, no insurance, and with no intention of paying the bill because "they have no money" or because "medicaid should pick it up" or because like so many people that want Universal Health Care, they feel entitled to it. Also, another thing that floods every single ER in the country, is shit that does not belong there. Cough, cold, fever, headaches, scratches, and all kind of minimal injuries that can be taken care of at home or at a Dr's office or night clinic. Why don't these get taken to Clinics or Dr's offices? well because they charge you at the time of your visit, the hospital doesn't. Do you really think this is a coincidence that someone comes in with a child that has a fever, and mom decides to go ahead and have the other 3 kids seen at the same time "since she's already there"? Gimme a fucking break!!!! America, pull your head out of your ass!!!!!!! You wonder why you have to wait? You wonder why it takes forever to get to a room then get seen by a Dr.? Because there is usually 1(one) Dr for at least 15 -20 patients, and he only sees one at a time.

If you eliminated all the needless cases that come in to the ER, there would be NO WAIT TIMES. If true emergencies were the only thing to come to the ER, there would not be the long wait times you have now.

Fevers, can be taken care of at home. When you come in, with 4 kids dragging behind you, all of them with a McDonalds bag, a toy from home and you have a pack of smokes in your pocket... Guess what motherfucker, you have money to buy some fucking tylenol and some ibuprofen to keep your kids temp down... and while you're at it, take the fucking blanket off of your already roasting child. you don't need an ER, you need your kids taken away until you can learn how to prioritize and learn how to take care of them.

The dumbass that brings in her 10 year old daughter because she got a "cat bite" on her hand and both myself and the nurse had a hard time finding "the scratch" (I'm not exaggerating) on her hand where supposedly she had been bitten takes up a room and a lot of time that is unnecesarry. I mean seriously, skin was not broken, not an injury. WHO THE FUCK GOES TO THE ER FOR THAT!?!?!? fucking twat!!

The 15 y/o pregnant girl who was there because her mom thought that since the police officer had spoken harshly to her, she should be checked by the ER "just in case".... JUST IN CASE WHAT YOU FUCKING TWAT!?!?!? So when I go to draw the dumbass girls' blood, she starts crying "no shots, I don't like shots" The nurse explains to her, "Look, this is part of getting you checked and make sure you're ok, but you're pregnant and therefore emancipated. You can decide if you want treatment or not" So she looks at mommy for an answer. "No! Nobody is talking to your mother, we are talking to YOU!!!! Do YOU want to be seen by the ER Dr?" She says no. So then we tell her to get up, turn around and walk out because there is a long line of people that DO want to be seen... and WE get yelled at and cussed at for being rude... GAWD I just wanted to tell them both, "You're both fucking morons!!!!! Who brings their kid to an ER because she was spoken to harshly by a police officer?!?!?!? Maybe if your 15 y/o pregnant daughter wasn't in a situation where a cop had to yell at her, or maybe even if your daughter wasn't 15 and pregnant, you wouldn't even be here. How about you quit trying to justify your every action and watch your kids better?!"

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

But have I mentioned that I really DO love my job, sadly my job does not allow me to voice my opinion and thoughts to everyone that comes through the door. This is just a small rant to those out there that just don't fucking get it. I know, I know, they NEVER will. This cycle will never end, and I'm ok with that because its job security and it means I can provide for my daughter. I just wanted to rant a bit about how blinded people are. How stupid they can be... and how home remedies have gone the way of the dinosaur ever since medicaid came into play.

Hopefully I get more to rant about this week when I go back to work. :)

Till next time

Mexicans First Aid Kits and Home Remedies

So we've talked about it before, and now we're going to define it a little bit better.

What is a Mexican First Aid Kit actually filled with? What do some of the Mexican home remedies consist of? Let us explore...

1.) Vicks Vap-O-Rub. Apparently it works on everything, including sprains, strains and swelling. Young mexican Britney Spears looking chic came in to the ER tonight with her little girl. Apparently a glass table had fallen on the little girl's foot and it was bleeding a bit, so of course the obvious thing to do is? Wait for it.... PUT VICKS ON IT!!! Of course!!! Bah! hahaha

2.) A red string.... Yes, you read that correctly. A red string. It is used to cure hiccups. You lick the string, place it on the forehead of the hiccupee and it is said to cure the hiccups. Try it, I never have, but who knows, weirder shit has worked.

3.) An Egg. And egg is used by curanderos or believers in some sort of magic used to cure the "evil eye". You rub the egg all over the body and it is said to take out the evil spirits in you (or some shit like that, I'm sure if anyone can correct me, they will, but that is the best way I can explain it) After that you crack the egg open, and it is supposed to be black and you put it in a glass and leave it under the sick persons bed so the evil spirits will stay away. I don't know how all of this works as I've never been in to magic and that stuff, but that is how it was explained to me

4.) Savila, or Aloe Vera Plant. Now this one I understand. It is actually a very good herbal remedy for many things. How do I know this? Had it used on me many times as a child and in my youth. I've even gotten to use it on my own kiddo. It is a very good plant to have around. I recommend it highly.

5.) Monkey Blood (merbromin) is a antaseptic that turns red and looks like monkey blood. Used on any type of scratch, scrape or laceration. Its a must have. haha

6.) Rubbing Alcohol. This one baffles me... Every time (both as a medic and an ER Tech) someone has passed out in the Mexican community, there has been a faithful (or 2 or more) family member present to rub down (yes, the entire body) the faintee's body with Alcohol. Why? meh, I don't know. but its always made me laugh. Alcohol is used widely and regularly in the Mexican community.

7.) Salt and Lime. Don't ask me, but I'm told its to cure Pink Eye. It kills the infection, and if you're infection is not that bad, you can use that shit for a beer too. Hahaha, fucking mexicans. Too funny

8.) A quarter (yes, the monetary kind), a candle, and a glass. You take a quarter and place it on the chest, light the candle and drop some wax on the quarter then stick the candle to the quarter. Then you put a glass on top of it and it sucks any air in the body out that may be causing pain. I'm still laughing about this one.

9.) A Piece of Newspaper rolled into a cone. Stick it in your ear, light the end furthest from head on fire, and let it burn down so it can suck away ear wax and ear pain. The vortex of fire is a cure all!!!

10.) Alcohol mixed with marijuana, for rheumatoid arthritis. You take a dime bag, or a twenty bag, depending on how bad your arthritis is and you put the weed in the alcohol, let it turn green, then rub it over the affected areas. I say take the weed, smoke it all in a bowl, carb it and everything, then get a bottle of Glenlivit, and drink it. All pain gone. Have beer on hand for hangover next morning

11.) Mustard and Toothpaste. If you have any type of burns on the body, you take a healthy amount of Mustard or Toothpaste and rub it all over the burns. I have no clue in hell what all this can do for a burn, but I've seen it on too many occasions. And if nothing else, use butter. you'll taste better.

12.) Manzanilla Tea. This one is actually supposed to work. Its for cholic like symptoms. Seems to work.

13.) Bacon and Salt. OMG!!! I about pissed myself laughing about this one just now. If you have a boil/abscess on your body, you take a piece of bacon, some salt and a bandaid. Put some salt, then bacon, then the bandaid on the boil/abscess and soon it will open and be cured up. I'm still laughing

14.) Checking pediatric Temperature. If a child (of the male persuasion) has fever, his balls will be sagging. priceless, thank you Jessica

15.) "La Moyera" Sunken Fontanelle Treatment. Having sunken fontanelle's in a chid also known as 'dehydration'. You take the child and turn him/her upside down and pop them on the soles of their feet until the fontanelles pop out. Or you take your thumb and push on the upper palate of the mouth until it pops back out.

16.) Baby's that wont sleep.. Bathe them in tub filled with water and Lettuce (unknown if carrots, salt and any particular lettuce is needed.)

17.) Whiskey. This is used for the gums of infants that are teething. It soothes the pain.

18.) Also, never go outside with your hair wet, cuz you'll get pneumonia.

19.) Potato slices on bruises, helps to make the bruising go away and the potato turns purple.

20.) A bowl of eggs. If you happen to be a man with a low sperm count, or infertile, you can take a bowl, put water in it, and place the eggs in the water. All this at regular temperature. Sit down, with your balls in the water, and your sperm count should increase significantly.

21.) Warm tomatoes. You slice up some tomatoes, warm them up and place the slices on your neck when your have tonsilitis. This is to help decrease the swelling of the tonsils.

22.) A cooked bag of onions. If a child has asthma, you take a cooked bag of onions, place it on the child's feet and the asthma should clear up. Also, a chihuahua breed dog, sleeping with the asthmatic child, should clear up any asthma problems. Of course the chihuahua ends up with the asthma.

23.) Potatoes can also be used for welders eyes. Cold potatoes out of the fridge, sliced, placed on the eyes and wrapped with what I'm assured MUST be a RED bandana for this to work.

24.) Garlic. Used for Hypertension. Whole cloves can be taken if you are feeling chest pain and fear you may be having a heart attack. Also, if you get a cactus thorn in you, you can put garlic on it to remove any remnants of said thorn from your body.

25.) Salt and Lime... yet again. If you have athletes/stinky feet, you can soak them in Salt and Lime water for a good amount of time to get the stink off.

26.) Spider Webs & Onion skin. If you have a cut or laceration, place either onion skin or spiderweb on said cut to stop the bleeding.

27.)Empacho. Also known as being full. What they do to you is while you're laying on your stomach, a chunk of skin on your back is pinched and pulled away from your body until you feel better. Don't ask me, I've never had it done.

and if you get your feet wet, be sure to get your hair wet so you don't get sick, it kinda evens things out.

I want to mention that all of these remedies are copyright property of Marcos J. de Peña. They can be used by anyone.

I also want to thank, Lupe Ruiz, Lupe Tech, Tito and Jessica for the input and for nearly giving me a stroke laughing my ass off.

If anyone (mexican or other has any home remedies or anything else I may have left out) chime in and let me know.

I'm going home.

OH yeah!!

Forgot to mention, my sisters wedding went off without a hitch. It was awesome. Had a great time and danced a bit. Much to someone's chagrin, yes, I did dance. HAHAHAHAHAHA

More updates....

So I had to go to work today, and I was doing okay until the fucking headache started. I'm not sure as to what the hell it is all about, but for the last week and a half my head has been continously pounding. So I made a deal with Tito that if I could go home early I would come in on Thursday until at least 1am.

I had an interesting situation happen with a certain someone. Needless to say that is all over with and I certainly believe that some mexican women are the anti-christ. It was quite comical to be honest. Oh well. some women lose out on good guys because they're not mentally stable.

I'm watching 'Dazed and Confused', such an awesome flick. great cars, great looking women, and a bunch of cock sucking jocks. Ha! I am seriously wanting a mid 60's hot rod.

I'm going to try and finish this movie then get some rest.

Seriously!!!??? Are you serious

Ok.... if you're gonna come to the ER and complain about how your feet are discolored and you think it may be because you have blood clots in you legs, make sure the filthy fucking shoes you are wearing WITHOUT socks on are not the same color on the inside as the discoloration on your fucking feet. Here's a tissue ya moron, now that you cleaned your feet, you can go home.... Lupe wants your number cuz he's gonna miss your dumb ass!!!

Fucking idiots. Nothing is better than the ER for comic relief

Forgot to mention, this grown, educated man, is a professor at UTPA, no wonder education is so fucked up nowadays.

Bored...

So I got off of work this morning, got home and took my kiddo to school. Went to MickeyD's and picked something up for mom as she was a little hungry. Some ratchet straps for my bike and back home. Loaded up and took off. Forgot to pay my child's school tuition so there we go, and glad I did because when I stopped, I noticed the motorcycle had gotten a bit loose. Fixed it and got under way. Drove for about an hour and had it, I had been up all night and needed some rest. Mom took over and I took out my puter and was no longer all that tired. :D Anyway. Wrote an email, heard a song that I could have done without hearing, shut everything off and then crashed for several hours. Woke up in Waco and ready to drive again. Made the last 2 hours of driving and got to the grandparents house. Dinner was a fat ass Juicy burger with bacon, cheese and jalapeños. Nothing better... and some HUGE ass onion rings. Then of course gramma made me some bad ass herbal tea for my cough and sore throat and wouldn't ya know it... I passed out on the couch somewhere around 7 or 8. ended up in my bed a little later and now I'm up and fully awake and... surprise surprise, hungry again. Gonna look at some maps as I'm going to ride all day tomorrow. Headed to Henderson to check out the track there, then a scenic route to Palestine and then up to Denton to see some friends, maybe stay the night out there, we'll see. No point bringing my motorcycle just to cruise around the block, eh?

Oh well, I'm off on the hunt for some food. I'll post up later again.

An update

Well here we go, lets see how much of this I can get done. I haven't updated since last month when I was in SF.

So I went to SF to get away for a bit and go watch my brother FINALLY race. Although at that time he had not qualified for it yet. Flew out of Harlingen because southwest does not fly out of McAllen.... lets find a pic...

^^ the airport... it was early and I was tired from an all night shift

So anyways, arrived in SF much later in the day and with hardly any sleep at all. For some reason I cannot sleep on the airplane, which sucks because I had yet to sleep.

Got to SF and much much to my surprise, when I called Rick to see if he was on his way to pick me up, he was still in bed. Dick! haha, typical though.

Made it back to the house and chilled. Rick played on his computer while I sat and watched the paint on the walls... waiting for my sister. Finally bro got his ass in gear and took me to get something to eat (in all honesty, I shouldn't have waited on him and found my own way and let him do his thing) at In-N-Out burger. DAMN!! I liked the 4x4. but my fatass likes anything greasy (insert mexican joke here)

Had a picture of the 4x4, but not sure where it went. Oh well, trust me, it was good.

Uhh, what else happened? Lets see, we chilled that afternoon and I think we watched Rambo (which I have to say, if you haven't seen it, do so) Also got baked that day and ate Pizza like a fucking mad man!!!

Sis and the BF rolled in and had the dog with them. That dog is funny. Sorry, no pictures of the dog.

I think we just chilled that night as it was Thursday and I was very tired. Had been up near to 24 hours with maybe an hour nap on the plane

lets see if I can load a picture of Rick and Josh's place

^^ Rick and Josh's place. Josh's has a nice car

Can't really remember what we did on Friday. I do know we went to Tyger's cafe which I was hungry for and that was good. After that we took off and Rick toured us around the bay area but I forgot my camera.

I do know that I never got my hoodie and I never got to run around downtown. Oh well, next time

I do however think we went to the Haight Ashbury that day... not sure. Maybe it WAS on Friday. Sis got her tat done and we had some beers. Yeah, I think that is right. Sis got a tat and we walked around the HA and laughed at all the hippies and bums and the morons advocating for the poor poor homeless bums begging for your money down there. Sheesh, fucking hippies

sisters tat...

Earlier that day we picked up what looked to be a retarded kid on the side of the road...

^^ retarded kid

We told her that we had paint chips aplenty and she perked up....

^^ a happy R-tard

Lets see. What else. I believe that both Saturday and Sunday were spent running around at the Track for Ricks race. We went to the Muir Mountain trail but all the parking was full, we were running late (turns out we weren't) and needed to get to the track. Besides all of that, sis's driving was scaring the shit out of Chris and I. Headed out to the track. Watched Rick race, he finished without any crashes and qualified for the race next day. Drove home with Rick and took some pictures. After that we did the same thing the next day, and then I came home Monday morning so I could make it to work Monday night. Had someone I wanted to see so i was glad to be home. I'm just gonna put up a few more pics and then I'll try to update later.

Update...

I need to update my blog. I have been back from SF for about 2 weeks now and haven't posted a damn thing. I know, I am the suck!!! Anywho, I'm off Thu-Sun so I should find some time to fix it up and figure it all out and put some pictures up and what not. Anyway. What can I say? Its 04:10 hrs and I'm sitting in the ER bored cuz there is not much for me to do other than to finally update this thing.

Ok, yes, I read the inside flap. What kinda flake do you think I am? Psh!!

Uhm, yeah, take a bath and you might actually get a date.

Each one of those ^^^ is for a different person, you both know who you are, read and enjoy.

I'll update this weekend with pics

Peace

WTF!?

I'm up way too damn early. Its about 6 now here in SF. Been up for about an hour. I ate way too much food last night, and for being in SF that sucks, cuz I gotta watch what I eat now. Double Damn. Oh well, no big deal. Sis is in town, and today we need to go and buy some trinkets and stuff for my kiddo and for some friends that wanted stuff from SF.

I'm off, gonna try and sleep a little more. Shoulda brought something warm to wear. I'm off to buy a cliched SF hoodie ;) hahahahaha

Sitting. . . waiting

So I'm here in the airport in Harlingen, just waiting for my flight to start boarding so I can get to Houston. After that its a short wait for the flight to San Francisco. Should be there by 3pm SF time. No worries. I was up all night and am tired. I should sleep the whole flight. Which is cool by me. Makes it go faster. I can't remember what I was supposed to by for whom, but I'll try to put it together.

Laters, will up date tonight from SF

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Eh

So I'm up now.... still sleepy. I"m going to pack a bag for the trip, get my carry on set to go, and take my ass to work. One more night then I'm off to SF. I'll update from there, or from work tonight if anything interesting happens.

peace

Back in Town

So I got back in town Sunday night... I actually made it all the way back here to McAllen without getting stopped a single time. I was impressed with my own good fortune.

So anyways, left grampa in the hospital for one more day. He was in good spirits so I didn't feel as bad. He was itchin to get the hell out of the hospital. He hates it there. He went home yesterday and had to go see the dermatologist and the oncologist for the stuff on his head. Today he went to the cardiologist and did his stress test. We will know in a few days what is up and if he needs to be catheterized again. We'll just sit back and wait. He's at home so he's cool.

I have to get home this morning and pack my bag for SF. Small bag, and a carry on. All i need is shorts, T-shirts and maybe something to wear in case we go to dinner somewhere in the city. Other than that, its gonna be laid back central. Luckily I work Wednesday night so I will sleep on the flight out to SF.

Not much else going on. Just here at work and I'm bored. Not much going on.

Giselle's cookies were the bomb. Thanks again for the treat.

Grampa

So grampa is in Tele, he was telling me he was cold and so I covered him up. He's been in pretty good spirits and wants to go home really. But alas, he gets a heart cath on Monday.

this is him after I covered him up.

And this is him covered in a pillow and blankets after I told him they were coming to draw more blood on him. hahaha. All in all, he's been a hell of a trooper.

oh yeah, his troponin is up at 5.8. Not good.

The drive...

So we were supposed to leave around 11 am - 1 pm. Yeah... RIGHT!!! Like that was ever going to happen. Actually mom had a long day at work and I had some running around to do. So it all kinda worked out. Got to see my kiddo before I left too, so that was bonus. Couldn't find my Ipod and I was hella pissed. Finally found it after thinking I had left without it. It was in my backpack (yeah, I'm a dumbass and forgot where I put it). So we get cash out of the bank, fuel up and get ice for the cooler (taking tortillas up to gramma) and get rolling. We're 20 minutes out and I'm already pulling a Natasha (my kiddo) "are we there yet?" WTF!? I'm tired.... I don't wanna be driving for the next 10 hrs, but mom has worked all day and I've been sleeping so there is no way I ask her to drive. Chit chatted off an on, and then finally got pulled over outside of Alice, Tx. Troop came up and told me I was doing 81 in a 70. The suck. He took my ID and walked back to his car. Came back with a warning and asked me to slow down. Warning #1.

Traveled on and got to Austin. Stopped for a fatass Whataburger as we are somewhat in a hurry. I don't want to roll into the grandparents house around 5am. Just outside of Austin, in the Round Rock area, is Troop #2, and my radar detector goes off just as I look to the side of the highway and see him pulling out. I don't even bullshit. I pull right over, put the truck in a police cruiser tilt and open windows, turn on lights, hands on wheel and radio off. "yes officer, good evening". "I'm trooper so and so, I stopped you because of your speed. Lic and Ins please" Handed him both Lic and my ins. "do you have your weapon on you sir?" "yes, I do". "Well, without touching it, could you tell me where it is?" Me: "yes sir, right hip, in a holster". So yada yada yada back and forth and he asks me, so who do ya work for (my id picture is of me in my EMS uniform and my radio mic can be seen on my shoulder, so I look like a cop) and I just said McAllen ( I failed to mention in what capacity I work in down there) so he just brings me a warning and lets me go. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, warning # 2.

Got to Tyler finally and drove up to the grandparents house. Wanted to be real quiet and get in and crash out... nothing doing. Grampa is up. "Marcos, come in here" So I go and he proceeds to tell me that he's been having chest pressure and pain to the arm (kinda like when he had his heart attack) for the last 2 hours, but he was waiting on me to get there so we could call an ambulance. If I hadn't been so concerned about him, I woulda chewed him out. Anyway, Bolance shows up, he gets a ride to the ER, Troponin is at 0.4 and he's got A-Fib c RVR. 10 of Caridzem and a 5cc/hr drip later and we're in Tele for the night. Hopefully the Troponin goes down by the next draw and we can go home. I swear I didn't drive 10 hrs for a hospital stay.

On another note. There is no word on his cancer. Just that its a squamous something or other (yes, I'm going to google when I finish with this). There is a circular pattern of skin removed from the back right side of his head and its about the diameter of a grapefruit, not pretty at all. But he's tough and shows it. We all are I guess.

So anyways, here I sit, in the tele room, listening to grampa snore. I'll knock out soon when mom, gramma or Edna get here to take over.

I'll update again later today.

Peace

So There I Was...

... Crashed out and getting my (much needed) beauty sleep. I wake up and take a gander at my cellular communication contraption. Turns out I have 7 missed calls and about 8-10 text messages. The ones I noticed were from mom. Started looking at them and although I was aware that my grandfather was having a mole/growth removed from his head, it seemed like there were too many texts on my phone for things to be normal. So after reading them all I realize that its a bit more serious. Turns out that the simple procedure to remove a mole/growth turned into a long session of removing a tumor the size of an orange and all the way down to the skull from his head. I've only gotten preliminary reports but from what I'm hearing, its cancer and it has gotten into the skin, the blood and his lymph nodes. I'm leaving tomorrow around noon for an 8-10 hr drive to go and see him and gramma and find out how everyone is doing and exactly how long they are going to give him. I had told myself about a day like this many times, always wondering how I would take the news that there was something really bad happening, or that he was gone, period. Right now, I'm in a holding pattern on feelings and emotions until I find out exactly what is going on. I'll be back on soon enough to report as to what is happening. Mom is going with me tomorrow so that should make the trip a little more bearable as its a long one.

Another day

Last of three, hopefully they won't call me in tomorrow night. If they do, its cool, more OT for me. Can't wait for next week where I can get the hell outta here for a while. Chill in SF for a couple of days, watch some racing and hope my dopey bro don't wreck again. Anyway, shower and work time.

Must... have... FOOD!!!!!

SF part deux

So obviously I didn't make it out to SF and L.A. last month like I was supposed to, but that is going to be remedied. I'm headed out next week for about 4 days. Not as long as I'd like and I wish I could go more often, but its what I got to work with if I want to make Reno for some snowboarding (yes, to see how funny I can look busting my ass the first time out there) in January. I fully intend on taking my kiddo out there for her birthday so she can try her hand at it as well. We'll see how all of that goes.

Anyways, my brother has a race next weekend and I'll go cheer him on in return for him taking me out in SF for a couple of days. No, not the freaking Pier 39 or whatever, the real SF, hopefully we can snag an extra bike and ride the trails in GGP. That would be the tits, as I've started riding again down here. Some decent trails, but I can't wait to hopefully hit the ones in GGP.

Also need to find my kiddo some gear from SF as she has requested a scarf with the word "California" on it and maybe a hat of some sort. Something cool, not just a baseball cap (yeah, that was her request, not me saying that) Anyway.. Be there in a week or so.

GLF, let me know if you're going to pick me up or if I'm taking the BART, and if so, where I'm taking it to.

I should really update this thing everyday for the 1 or 2 people that actually look at this thing, but I'm lazy and tend to get sidetracked. oh well, I'll try harder.

Thursday, July 17, 2008

So its not like anyone ever reads my blogs or anything, but to those that do, and to those that care.... Its obvious by now that I did NOT go to California even though I had my heart set on it. I was supposed to go with friends and what not and a situation came up with one of those individuals that made my decision a rather harsh one but a necessary one. Luckily, I spoke with southwest and they said I have a year to use my flight ticket so I'm going to set up a time and go spend time with my sis in Reno.

Sucks because I really want to go back to SF. Hopefully soon. Maybe I'll just say fuck it and take the time and buy another ticket, go alone this time. We'll see.

T Minus...

... 6 days and we'll be in LA. About friggin time too. A much needed get away is in the works. Flying out Tuesday around 1pm and arriving at LAX around 6 and change local time. Hanging out with some new friends and some high school buddies that moved out there.

SF shortly afterwords, but we'll figure that out.

Counting down...

8 hours of sleep, not bad

Now I'm so damned hungry... what to eat, what to eat...Steak, yeah, that's the ticket.

Hey Kobe, tell me how my ass tastes.... hahahahaha

4 days off... gonna get a bit of rest, then tonight go drinking

So I am working the night shift... I'm actually enjoying it except for certain lazy nurses that think that everyone is there to serve them. I'm cool with it though as my director told me that "they can fuck themselves, if they want maids to clean up after them, they're welcome to hire them." hahahahaha :D that and my Director really likes me (she's pretty bad ass) so no worries there.

On another note, my schedule rocks for right now. I work Mon-Wed, 7p-7a and I get 4 days off. I get better pay and benefits than I ever would on an ambulance and I keep seeing the guys doing the job I left over 2 years ago and they look they way I used to. Beat, tired, hating their jobs yet telling themselves that they still love it. . . till they find out my hours, benefits etc... I don't tell them what I get paid, as not many medics get that pay around here in the valley. Did I mention my director likes me?! hahaha ;)

Got off of work this morning after sitting around the ER since about 3am doing absolutely NOTHING as we were dead last night. My daughter called and told me that I would be very proud of her, as she was already in her seat and seat belted in.... you see, today she took her first airplane ride... she is on her way to California with her mom to visit some of her mom's family and then go to San Francisco. They will be there all weekend. Kinda sucks that she won't be there when I'm going to be there, but I'm taking a more adult oriented trip out there and it would be hard to do with her there. Another time, another trip. She should be calling me daily or texting from her mom's phone.

Anyway, I'm going to sleep for a bit and plan for this weekend as I have things to do. I also need to sell one of my motorcycles since my brother doesn't want to buy it back from me ( I told him he could have first dibs at it, but he thinks its too expensive) so I can purchase another bike. Ah well, nothing is forever and nothing lasts forever. Someone else can enjoy the bike. I want something different.

Peace.

just a small update

Finally got around to cleaning my desk off. I'm tired. Getting used to working night shift has been fun. I'm working in the ER now while I go to school. New hospital, new people and much better pay than before so I'm ok with it. I work 3 nights a week, off from Thu-Sun so I get time to do my thing and spend time with my kiddo whenever possible. Although I will say that night shift is filthy. Is it really that hard to put the trash from shit you open in a trash can? And then to get indignant because the mess you made hasn't been cleaned up for you? haha, luckily the director, a friend of mine, agrees with me 100%. She told me to tell them all to clean up after themselves and if they had a problem with that, they could go talk to her about it... like I said, I'm liking my job. Now, that is not to say I don't like helping, or cleaning or backing up the teams when the shit hits the fan. But when getting online to check softball stats, or stereo equipment comes in first ahead of pt care or just plain cleaning up your mess, then I don't really care much for your work ethic. Anyway, let me step off of my soapbox now...

And start planning my trip to SF. Thats right boys and girls, I'm headed back to Cali. I will be in LA/Santa Monica for about 3 days then driving up the PCH 1 to SF for about 4-5 days of exploring and hanging out. We have 1 day where we are going to go to Napa and have a limo drive us around while we get drunk as skunks. Other than that we haven't set out a plan just yet. A lot of eating and sight seeing and maybe some clubbing. We'll see what happens. We have also noticed that we don't have to be back until July 27, so if we can find a place to stay on the not so expensive side, we'll just switch our flights and stay several more days.

1st stop on this trip when we get to SF is going to be (depending on the time we get there) to Tygers Cafe for breakfast. Other than that, maybe some burritos, deli's, Thai place that I went to last time I was in town, and who knows what else.

We'll figure it out.

I texted my brother but like always, no answer. So Ric, Jes, We'll be in town from July 18-23. If you guys would like to get together one of those days for lunch or dinner, awesome, if not, no worries. We're gonna have a blast one way or the other. And no, that is not a subtle way of hitting you up for a place to stay if that is what you were concerned with dear brother. We'll be staying downtown.

Will update soon

more ramblings

So I'm just sitting here wondering what it is I can write about. I'm observing.... I see things... an ADHD individual running amock in a room, back and forth, going and going until I arrive and bring order to the room. "start with one corner and work your way from there" I say. I am obeyed and ordered is restored to the empire. haha. It is rather nice to be watching her go back and forth, tryin to find a place for everything and finding something different to move/organize when she does find a place for the original object. Actually the nice part about it is that its not my mess to clean and i get to watch. I dread going back to my place to start the clean up. now THAT place is a mess and I really don't want to clean it, but I know eventually I will have to. Oh well.

Kid Rock

I always told myself that if Kid Rock ever got down to this area, be it south texas (San Antonio, Austin, Houston) whatever, I was going. Turns out he was here in town last night and a friend of mine (thanks Jeanette) hooked up some Pit Tickets. Damn... there is a reason they call him Kid Rock... that white kid can ROCK!!!! Show was awesome. doors opened at 6pm, and for those that always take their time because they think the artists always start late, think again. by about 7pm or 7:30pm Kid Rock was on stage and making his presence known in the Rio Grande Valley.

Kid puts on one hell of a show and did not disappoint in the least bit.

Also... Rev Run was on stage with Kid and it was just fucking awesome.

Good music, good booze (yeah, I snuck a flask full of Glen in) and great music and show.

couldn't ask for anything more.

Will post pictures of Kid later

Update

So I've been told "Yeah, but you never update your blog!"

read that as "whining"... so drink ya wench!!! hahaha

Here's an update. I'm still in school. Still kicking ass although my last exam did not go as well as I planned. Although I passed, I realize that a little more study time is in order, which I'm going to do today after I finish cleaning up and washing my clothes.

Other than that, not much going on.

Can't wait to be done with school. Might be looking at work up in the hill country... Kerrville to be more exact. Its a great area of Texas, has a very good hospital and some very good roads to ride my motorcycle on. That and I'll be closer to the track in Bryan/College Station, I think... let me look at the map hahahaha.

Anyways, that is all for now.

I will try to update this more regularly to appease the peanut gallery.

Yeah, that means you...

Another year .... meh... whatever

So today I turn yet ANOTHER year older... Oh well. 34 is actually not that bad. Why? well cuz Rick is older so I'm okay with it. hahahahaha

Actually spent some time on the Island yesterday drinking beer and hanging out with some friends. Went well. Came home and chilled.

Today I'm going to finish my pot, yes I said pot not cup, of coffee, go and treat myself to breakfast and then my friend told me to come over to his house, pick up one of his motorcycles (either a 2001 RC51 or a Ducati 916) and take it out for a ride. So today, for my birthday, I will ride until I'm either too tired to do it anymore, or the wheels fall off, or I run outta gas money. I ain't running outta gasw money, I'm not going to get too tired, so we'll see how the wheels do.

I'm off.

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

So last night I set my alarm for 06:45... to fucking early apparently as I kept hitting the snooze button because I didn't have to be at school until 09:00 for the first exam of this 8 wk block... So as I wake up at the crack of 08:48, I'm in a panic. FUCK!!!!! I have an exam today...

Raced out the door and down the road to the school, showed up 20 minutes late and got to take the exam. finished in 15 minutes and baffled everyone by walking in not only late, but before anyone else had finished. Got an 87 on the exam. Shoulda done better, but they were acceptable mistakes and helped me learn.

Now I'm on vacation.

Nutz to school for 12 days.

Monday, March 10, 2008

Sitting in my first class of the day, a thermos of coffee at my side, my trusty new computer always at the ready due to the fact that our overzealous teacher knows exactly how to bitch about everything EXCEPT for her habitual tardiness. Oh well, more computer time for me.

I'm wondering if I can sneak in a kidney punch every time she is late.

Must have more coffee.

My Fatass... un-fattening

So after the Machete Hash, I figured my fatass needed to get in better shape because had I needed to run (after unloading 3 magazines full of .45 caliber of course) I probably wouldn't have gotten very far as I'm overweight, out of shape and usually not very inspired to run (not even at a hash). I had mentioned this to JD and really didn't think too much about it afterwords and started trying to figure out how to go about it. A couple of days later I get a call and a webpage from JD telling me that it just might help. I was like "great, I'll check it out". Turns out that it is a web page to help you count your daily caloric intake. My first response was "Calorie counter? I don't need no stinkin calorie counter!" (if you don't know the original line, or the original accent to that, rent Blazin Saddles and get back to me) but then I realized that anything would be worth a shot.

So I started counting calories. Input my info and came to the conclusion that I'm "clinically obese" due to the fact that I weigh too much for a man my age and my height. So I said "fuck it" time to fix it. Started counting that very day and here we are 10 days later and 7 lbs less, and I'm feeling great. Started working out, weights, cardio (spin class is the work of the devil) and just eating a much healthier diet (not dieting). I've gone from a possibly 3,000-5,000 calorie a day diet to under 2,000 cals a day. I've cut out as much red meat as possible and more than anything I've cut out fast food. It is what was killing me the most. Pants are fitting me very loose, my gut is not as visible and my riding jacket actually goes on without me having to suck in my gut.

Yeah, I'm feeling awesome.

I'm still not anywhere near Trojan level with my workouts nor do I think I will be for a while, but hopefully someday pretty soon, the change will be readily noticeable and permanent.

Thanks JD.

New Day, time to ride... kinda windy though

I think that today I will ride. Its been kinda windy here lately and pretty dangerous for motorcyclists as of late. 3 fatalities in the last month due to ignorant drivers and what not. Just last week one young cat was killed when a woman pulled out of Burger King, failed to yield the right of way. Died at the hospital. She was arrested and charged with involuntary vehicular manslaughter, I believe if she is convicted it carries a 2-20 yr sentence. Sucks to go to jail, but you shoulda been watching where you were going.

So with that said, I'm gonna ride. Why? Well, it was best said in "The 13th Warrior"... Our Destiny's are Preordained, Fear profits us nothing. So I cannot fear the unknown. But I DO have to ride. :D

Had a bad ass omelette this morning, gonna play my guitar for an hour or so because its just sitting there and if its not getting used, might as well get rid of it right? I'll just keep one of them, liquidate the rest. Need to finish up a research paper for school and a care plan for my clinical class.

I didn't get to go see Rambo the other day, so I might just roll out tonight to check it. The reviews that both GLF and Brownie have given it are too good to pass up, so I'm on it.

Trying to be healthy

Went to lunch with my kiddo who for some reason loves miso soup and fried rice with chicken and veggies. She hasn't stepped up to sushi, but we have discovered that she loves shrimp and crab, yet is allergic to both.

This is her eating her soup.

And this is my salad... she was not happy that she couldn't eat the crab on my salad. :teeth

How fucking crazy is this?!

So the above link is a story about this couple that met someone, hung out with them, then brutally murdered that man with a machete. From what the news says, she hacked him while he was kicking the shit out of him. That was in San Antonio I believe. They somehow ended up on SPI, and by some silly coincidence at the same campground where we had our 2nd Analversary ICBINMH3 Hash. When I arrived, these trolls were already hanging about and I could tell they were not exaclty hashers, but were not being run off. They spent all of Friday night hanging around, having a good time, enjoying keg beer and the company of good hashers.

Saturday I had to drive back to McAllen for the food and for some other things I had to do and I saw this couple in Port Isabel both when I was leaving and upon return to the Island.

That evening they were hanging around the hash again and even enjoying tippy cup as they had the night before. Only this time they had brought their own beer as they were told that the hash was a paid event. These two never gave anyone any trouble that I can recall or think of. They just hung out, drank beer and got drunk.

So when Guam calls me today and asks me if I remembered the Trolls from the Hash, I was like "yeah, what about them?" He tells me, "Dude, they were arrested for murder" and I was a bit in shock and then started doing all the what ifs and what not. Just a good thing that it turned out that they were not in the mood to machete anyone to death.

ONON,
Dude!

And by "these two", I do NOT mean Joto-Cicleta and Toe Jam, I mean the two on the Far left

2nd Analversary

Although this weekends Hash was damn near wrecked due to a last moment change in venue, I think Butter Bling and the other, more active ICBINMH3ers pulled off one hell of a weekend.

We had a total of 36 out of towners and I think 8 locals at SPI for a great time had by all.

Next year we will certainly have more than just plan B, I think we'll go to at least plan F to make sure we don't scramble as much as we did this weekend.

Had a new naming this weekend. Our friend from Mexico who has been hashing for a while now and was one of the original masked men at TXIH (yr? glf?) was named Joto-cicleta (Homo-Cycle). Good times

I'll try to get some more fotos as I was too busy to take that many.

BBQing

Sitting outside in Allen's backyard, grillin up some dead cow and pig, telling tall tales and lies of course. Talking Allen into coming out to the Hash this weekend for our 2nd Analversary and he just agreed that he would even though he works the next 5 days. No worries, he can come out after work and make it to work in the morning.

Butter Bling is all whiney cuz I'm on the computer... I think he has LapTop envy. That and Sprint Wireless card envy. HA!!!

The night has a cool breeze to it which is odd for this part of the country, but we'll take it anytime we can get it.

Damn that food is awesome.

More to come... standby

removing word verification

Took the word verification off for those that are sensitive and have trouble spelling.

Yeah, that means you cake eater

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Its Tuesday and I need to get to the school. Have a lot of projects I'm working on right now and hopefully things will come through and I can be more comfortable in my life.

This weekend we laid some friends to rest and now that there has been closure, its time to move on and honor their memory.

You will be missed guys.

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Turns out that its 3 after all...

I hadn't heard the first name of the pilot that went down last night, and the spelling and my pronounciation of it were off. Turns out that it was Robert Goss, I man I knew and flew with on several occasions.... so alas, I've lost another 3 friends.... sucks.

Sucks that I quit smoking 8 months ago, I'd like one right about now. Wouldn't fix anything, but it sure would be kinda justified. or not.

A bitter sweet night last night

So I finally decided to go back to shooting as I'd been telling myself I would for a very long time now. Shot USPSA match and came in 5th place out of 14 shooters. Not bad for not having competed in about 3-4 yrs. First round didn't go all that well as I had several misses but the hits were dead on.

That was sweet...

Bitterness struck as I was having dinner later that evening. I got a text message that the news was reporting an air ambulance had crashed into the South Padre Island bay. I was very concerned as I have friends that work there. I started making some calls. Decided to call my friend Raul to see if he had any details... turns out that it was him and another one of my friends that were the victims of this crash.

10 yrs ago, on June 5 of 1998, we lost 3 friends in a helicopter crash with the same company.
Carlos de la Fuente RN/EMTP Brenda Leinweber EMTP and Tony Martinez Pilot were lost in a senseless wreck that never should have happened.

Today I mourn the loss of two more friends to the same fate...

RIP Raul Garcia
RIP Mike Sanchez

I did not know the pilot, but my thoughts are with his family.

How could I not mention...

This weekend was a very good weekend. I got to spend the ENTIRE weekend with my amazing daughter Natasha. Shes been a little under the weather with a cough and what not, but its amazing to see that she never loses her smile and always gives ME a reason to smile no matter what.

We have found that she now LOVES going to the public library and going through all the books that are there for her.

First time....

Well here we go, have no idea what to say/write as I've not done before so I'll just ramble since I'm so good at saying a lot without saying much... ahaha. Or I could follow The Duke's advice and "Talk low, Talk slow, and don't say too much"

Well, lets see where this leads us.

Worked out today, hadn't done that in a while and my fatass is feeling it. Hopefully, with continued workouts, it will get better. We'll see.
